Pack The Sled $100
A large and vital expense involved with the Iditarod is the 2,000 lbs. of gear that I will carry on my sled over the course of the race. Obviously it is not possible to carry all 2,000 lbs. at one time so the gear is shipped, for a fee, to 25 checkpoints along the trail. For a donation of $100 you can help to ensure that important items like dry gloves, food (for myself and the team), booties, and dry dog blankets will be waiting for me when I get to the checkpoint!
Lead The Team $500
The lead dogs are the brains of the operation. I depend on my leaders to guide me through the tough spots and ultimately to get me across the finish line. However the leaders are not alone. In order to alleviate some of the mental fatigue that comes with a command position secondary leaders are trained to perform all of the same tasks as the head dogs. The training is extensive and specialized with the purpose of molding a trail savvy leader. Your gift of $500 will help cover a portion of the expenses involved in this most important of trainings.
Heading to Nome $1000
The groundwork has been laid, the team has trained for six months, the supplies have been shipped, the 2,600 mile drive to the start has been completed. Now the rubber meets the road i.e. the runners hit the snow. It's time to head to Nome. Why sit on the sidelines when you in the form of a logo can join me heading on to Nome?!
